Three killed in road accident in Jumla

JUMLA, Feb 16: A mini truck heading toward Mugu from Nepalgunj met with an accident at Badki of Jumla district on Thursday, killing three people including the driver. 

The truck plunged some 100 meter from the road at Kotilabhir of Jumla. 

The deceased have been identified as Ranga Bahadur Shahi and his wife Ganga Shahi from Mugu, and truck driver Tirtha Ram Tharu of  Bardia.  

According to Prem Dhital, a teacher of Shree Bhairav Primary school of Badki, the truck passengers died on the spot. The injured 19-year-old co-driver Ganesh BK has been admitted to Karnali Academy of Health Science, teaching hospital, Jumla.

The accident site is an hour's walk from the nearest police station at Narakot.

“Police are investigating the accident and working to send the bodies for post mortem,” Dhital added.

The poor condition of the road is been blamed for the accident.
