Three girls drown in Lumbini

BUTWAL, July 13: Three girls drowned in Lumbini on the same day. The deceased have been identified as Muskan Khatun, 5, from piprahwa, Lumbini Cultural Municipality-5, Rupandehi; and Jayanam Inariya, 3, from the same place, according to Inspector Deepak Kunwar from the District Police Office, Rupandehi.

BUTWAL, July 13: Three girls drowned in Lumbini on the same day. The deceased have been identified as Muskan Khatun, 5, from piprahwa, Lumbini Cultural Municipality-5, Rupandehi; and Jayanam Inariya, 3, from the same place, according to Inspector Deepak Kunwar from the District Police Office, Rupandehi.


On Tuesday, they drowned in Machhapokhari about 150 meters from their home. Both girls are believed to have drowned while playing. According to police, further investigation into the deaths is underway.

Another three-year-old girl was found drowned in the Tinau River in Sammarimai Rural Municipality-5 on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Srijana Chai. She drowned while her parents were working in the field, said the police
