KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Three girls have drowned in a river and a lake in separate districts on Monday. Two girls drowned while bathing in the Gopka River in Gauriganga Municipality-9 in Kailali district.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Nepal Police Madan Joshi of Masuriya Police Post said that eight-year-old Ritima Dahal and 10-year-old Pritima Bista of Gauriganga Municipality-9 drowned while bathing in the river. Meanwhile, 11-year-old Mamata Rawal of Baphikot Rural Municipality-4 in Rukum district drowned in Syarpu Lake on Monday afternoon, police said.
