SAPTARI, Aug 5: Three persons died in Saptari after experiencing coronavirus-like symptoms in the past 24 hours.
Of the three persons, one was a man from Rupani Rural Municipality-5. He was in home quarantine after coming back home from Malaysia one month ago. However, he did not undergo PCR test. He was brought to Gajendranarayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj after he complained of breathing difficulties. The hospital referred him to the BPKIHS, Dharan.
The man breathed his last on the BPKIHS premises. His body was brought back to his hometown but local authorities barred the family from conducting his final rites unless the PCR report is not produced.

Two other persons died at the Chhinnamasta Hospital in Rajbiraj on Tuesday evening. Both of them were admitted to the hospital six days ago after having breathing difficulties. The district health authorities said that family will be allowed conducting the final rites of deceased only after the PCR report is provided.
The District Health Office, Saptari, is preparing to collect throat swab specimens of the three deceased. Their throat swab will be sent for COVID-19 test.
