KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Police on Saturday evening arrested seven migrant workers en route to the United Arab Emirates on the charge of having fake PCR test reports for COVID-19.
According to police, seven migrant workers en route to Dubai via a Fly Dubai flight were arrested from the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Hospital employees found involved in producing fake PCR reports
“Those having fake PCR reports were arrested in coordination with Fly Dubai airlines company,” according to Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Nath Bastola, chief of airport police.
As the arrested were showing suspicious behavior, the airlines company contacted the respective hospitals from where the reports were issued. Upon contacting the hospital, the administration told the airlines that the reports were not issued by them.
“After confirmation from respective hospitals, the airline contacted the police, and we arrested them,” Bastola added.
The arrested have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Circle in Gaushala for further investigation into the case.
