URLABARI, March 23: Two people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident occurred this morning at Kanepokhari rural municipality-7 in Morang along the East-West Highway.

Ram Kumar Achhami, 47, of Arjundhara municipality-4, Jhapa and Prakash Magar, 35, of Gauradaha municipality have been confirmed dead in the accident took place when a container (Na 3 Kha 6918) en route to east from west was hit at the rear by a Tata Sumo jeep ( Ba 11 Cha 7948) coming from the same direction, Area Police Office, Pathari police inspector Kamal Bajgain said. 

The injured are identified as Yogesh Neupane, Babita Magar, Prabika Magar and Durga Magar of Gauradaha; Ramesh Tamang of Kavrepalanchowk; Hari Prasad Nembang of Miklajung rural municipality, Panchthar; Sumo driver Kul Bahadur Regmi; and container driver Laxman Adhikari of Rapti municipality-2, Chitwan. All the injured have been taken to the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital. 

Meanwhile, motorcyclist Gorakh Chaudhary, 33, of Dangisharan rural municipality-6, Dang district in State-5 died when a pick-up van (Ra 1 Cha 346) heading towards west from Tulsipur hit his motorcycle (Ba 97 Pa 5832) at Nandragaun of Tulsipur Sub metropolis-2, police said.
