Three arrested for selling substandard commodities

DHANGADHI, Sept 27: Police on Monday arrested proprietors of three industries in Kailali district on the charge of their involvement in producing and supplying substandard commodities.



The arrestee´s are Om Prakash Agrawal, owner of Rajshree Food Industry, Prakash Sethiya, owner of Mangalam Rice Mill and Raj Kumar Agrawal, owner of RP Modern Industry. The three industries are the biggest ones in Kailai district. [break]



Arrest warrants were issued against them three days ago after a market monitoring team headed by Administrative Officer at the District Administration Office Chiranjeebi Ghimire found substandard commodities and rice in the Industries.



According to Chief at the District Police Office Basanta Panta, investigation into the cases has been started by putting the wrongdoers in custody.



The team while raiding in the Industries found huge quantity of substandard rice having the brand tag of other industries.



Locals have demanded to take stern action against anyone involved in selling substandard commodities keeping the concern for public health at bay.
