KATHMANDU, July 10: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has fined an eatery for selling substandard food products.
Akash Foods, a shop in Lazimpat in the city, was fined Rs 150,000 for selling rotten sweets, Monitoring Officer of KMC Balram Tripathi said.
According to Tripathi, the owner of the sweets house, Ankur Agrawal, has been directed to pay the penalty amount to the bank account of KMC within a week.

It is said that the wrongdoer would be fined additional if he failed to deposit the penalty amount in the given timeline.
Likewise, the KMC fined an individual from KMC-6 in Bauddha for mixing the septic tank into the drainage system.
The KMC said that Gokul Bahadur Budhathoki was slapped with a fine of Rs 50,000 in fine.
In recent times, the KMC has upped its monitoring job to keep the city and its heritages neat and clean.
