Three arrested for honey trapping

DANG, Dec 11: Three people have been arrested for honey-trapping a person in Dang. Krishna Gahatraj alias Anushka Singh of Gadawa Rural Municipality, currently residing in Tulsipur, Krishna Kumari Basnet of Tulsipur Gwar Khola and Rudra Bahadur KC of Narayanpur have been arrested by the police. The mastermind is Krishna Gahatraj.

According to the police, Gahatraj had a personal relationship with a man and she was also demanding a large sum of money from him. The man filed a complaint with the police saying that he had been mentally tortured for a long time and demanded a large sum of money.

Based on the same complaint, the police arrested Gahatraj and her two associates. According to the police, Gahatraj was bargaining with the man for a large sum of money through her two associates. In addition, the police also said that the main culprit of this incident, Gahatraj, has been extorting large sums of money from the victim for a long time. According to DSP Rajan Gautam of the District Police Office, the man gave Rs 1.4 million to Gahatraj the first time.

At that time, Gahatraj had threatened her that she would file a rape case if she was not paid the money. After that, again in Nepalgunj, the man paid another 1.2 million rupees and there was also a written document stating that he would no longer be in a relationship and there would be no bargaining. "Threats of filing a rape case by showing complaint papers have been happening since before," DSP Gautam said, “Due to this fear, the man had been paying such large sums of money.”

Although documents to end the relationship were made keeping a lawyer, Gahatraj later started giving mental stress to the family. Lately, Gahatraj had demanded 50 million rupees. "It is seen that she threatened the victim's family and demanded 50 million rupees," said Gautam. He gave a large sum of money. But later Gahatraj started bargaining for money by threatening the family members, then the man lodged a complaint with the police. "It is seen that the victim gave the money till the end," said Gautam, "But after she started asking for more, it seems that he got frustrated and came to the police."

The police have registered a case against Gahatraj, who has been caught in connection with the honey trap, under the offense of criminal benefits.
