Ilam , June 17: Police have arrested three persons from Ilam on the charge of brutally killing a dog with a stick.
According to the police, 21-year-old Dikshant Morohang Limbu, 17-year-old Sangam Limbu and 17-year-old Ashok Limbu have been arrested from Jitpur of Deumai Municipality-9 in Ilam.

According to the police, the trio repeatedly hit the dog with sticks and buried it in a pit and posted a video of it on social media.
On June 14, 2024, they posted a video of the dog being killed on Facebook. The video was released from 'Sugam Morahang Limbu' and 'Bhoot Pret' accounts.
After seeing the incident on social media, an animal welfare association lodged a complaint with the District Police Office. According to the police, a case has been registered against those arrested under the 'animal-related offenses'.
