Third World Nepali Health Conference concludes

LONDON, Sept 20: The World Nepali Health Conference concluded on Sunday by issuing a 28-point declaration letter in London.

The declaration has commended every Nepali health worker and the Nepali people for their patience and courage in such a difficult situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.   

“We believe that health is the right of every individual and a primary element in raising the living standards of every nation. We each have a unique role to play in providing quality healthcare to Nepalis and appreciate the contribution of all individuals, organizations and partners who have contributed in this area, and express our commitment to support them, ”the declaration read.

The conference also called on the government of Nepal to establish a proper mechanism to utilize the skills, experience and communication network of Nepali experts and experts from around the world for the development of Nepal. 

The conference held at the Embassy of Nepal in London saw a presentation of over 30 scientific papers. Also, more than 50 workshops were conducted. 

Addressing the closing ceremony of the event, Central Vice President of Non-Resident Nepali Association Dr Badri KC, General Secretary Dr Hem Raj Sharma, NRNA and South Korea Chapter’s Dr Devi Basnet, among other speakers, said that the awareness programs yielded positive results during the pandemic. 

The event was inaugurated jointly by Darshan Regmi, Nepali Ambassador to England and Umesh Shrestha, State Minister for Health from Nepal. Speaking at the program, Minister Shrestha thanked the NRNA and Nepali doctors from around the world for their help toward Nepal and the Nepali people from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also informed that the government of Nepal has prioritized vaccination campaigns against the virus to every Nepali citizen. 

At the event, it was decided that the 4th World Health Conference will be held in Australia.
