Docskool Film Centre has been organizing the program, and the shows of this series will be held from August 21 to 27.[break]
According to the organizers, the program has been designed to promote independent films and encourage discourse on the contents.
All shows will be followed by discussions, and the directors of the films will also be present at most of the events.
“The program is organized once every month for about a week, and everyday we feature an independent film,” said AbhiManyu Dixit, Communication Officer of Docskool Film Centre.
“Nepali movie theatres don’t screen such films, and they just get stored at home. So we’re trying to promote these films in this manner,” said AbhiManyu.
He also informed that the films are made by amateurs, and they need feedback. That is why there is a discussion after the screening of the films.

“To be featured at the program, the films have to be independent, short, and directed by a Nepali,” AbhiManyu further informed.
This series of Cine-Saptaha is featuring Forgive, Forget Not, and Watcher. The next movie to be screened has not been disclosed.
Forgive, Forget Not is a 28-minute non-fiction film by Pranay Limbu. It is based on the real life experiences of Bhaikaji Ghimire, a Nepali journalist detained blindfolded inside Kathmandu’s infamous Bhairavnath Barracks for 15 months.
Watcher, directed by Pranaya Rana, is a 24-minute English fiction. It is a film about the practice of watching films. It is about what exactly it means to be a “watcher” of films.
Cine-Saptaha is an open program, and any filmmaker may book to showcase his/her film.
If a group of more than 10 people would like to participate, an extra show can be organized.
