KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Famous rapper Yama Buddha had been working on a few songs before he left this world. But he called it quits before he could make these songs public. He was working on three music projects.
He was working on his songs ‘Pagalpan’ and ‘Aama’ along with his album ‘Khatara’ and, those who know him say, he was looking forward to make them public. This is second song on the theme ‘Aama’. His first ‘Aama’ song was a huge hit.
The shooting of his music video ‘Pagalpan’ had already been completed. Actor Resh Marhatta acted in the music video. The teaser of the music video which was filmed in the USA too had been released. His fans are waiting for these songs to be released.
“We are not sure as yet when to release these songs,” actor Marhatta told Republica Online, “After things get normal, we will gradually try to institutionalize his works.”
Marhatta also revealed that Yama Buddha used to write his songs together with his sister Dr Anita Adhikari. “Yama sang a number of songs and also he has written many songs,” Marhatta said, “This should be recorded in Nepal’s music industry.”
Before dying recently at an early age of 29, Yama Buddha had reached the pinnacle of Nepali rap music and played a very instrumental role in the commercialization of rap music. In association with Colin Bikram Rana, he had organized rap battles in Kathmandu which uplifted NepHop.
Yama’s body is being brought to Kathmandu from the UK on Saturday (tomorrow) at 4 pm. His body will be kept at Nepal Academy hall at Kamaladi.
