RAUTAHAT, Aug 26: The death toll in the Trishuli bus plunge has reached 21 as one more injured breathed his last in the course of treatment.
As many as 20 passengers died on the spot and around 15 others were rescued when a night bus, Ga Kha 3709, heading for Pokhara from the district headquarters Gaur, veered off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River at Chandibhanjyang -5, Kalikhola along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section at around 4 am on Friday.
According to Mid-western police in-charge, DIG Pashupati Upadhyaya, "The injured have been rescued and sent to a hospital in Bharatpur and the search operation is being carried for those who are missing in the accident."
Around 40 passengers had boarded the bus from Gaur.
