KATHMANDU, July 25: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bimalendra Nidhi has claimed that there is no other democratic party like the Nepali Congress in Nepal.

He said this while speaking at a tea reception held in Kathmandu on Tuesday. He insisted that although there are many communist, regionalist and populist parties in the country, the Nepali Congress is the only party that believes in democracy and republic. He said that in the party there is no such thing as party president versus general secretary. He said that since the NC is a party that believes in democracy, the activities of the party are carried out with the belief in democracy. He said that the future goal of the party is the successful implementation of the NC statute and working for the benefit of the people and the country.

He said, “There is no such thing as party president versus party general secretary, there’s anybody versus nobody. Neither before, nor now. The Nepali Congress is a party that believes in democracy; everyone says what they want. The successful implementation of the constitution and working for the benefit of the people and the country is the future goal of the party. To work in favor of farmers, workers, Dalits, women. Everyone has discussed in the central committee, they will work for the people's democracy by being united, they will come out with one voice to work for the people. There is no democratic party like Nepali Congress, there are other communist, regionalist and populist parties in the country, Nepali Congress is the only party that believes in democracy and republic.”

Leder Nidhi said that there was a discussion in the Nepali Congress Central Committee meeting about working in favor of people's democracy by being united.
