Tharu king's palace to turn into museum

DANG, June 7: In a bid to conserve the Sukaurakot Palace of Tharu King Dangisharan, a museum is going to be constructed at Urahari VDC of Dang.



The move comes at a time when precious objects of the palace are about to lose their charm. The District Development, Dang, has set aside Rs 1.3 million to build the museum.



Local Development Officer Surya Kanta Jha said the Ministry of Culture has committed to provide Rs 8 million to carry out construction of the museum. He said preparations for land acquisition for the museum are underway.
