KATHMANDU, June 3: A dispute has arisen between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and the Department of Road over road work in the New Road area.
The road department commenced pitching a road that had been dug up by KMC on Monday morning for footpath expansion. However, the situation escalated when KMC police intervened, leading to a confrontation.

Currently, discussions are ongoing between the KMC police and road department officials to resolve the issue.
KMC had excavated the road to expand the footpath area in New Road. Despite objections from the Road Division Office, which instructed the KMC to maintain the road as it was, the metropolis proceeded with its plans. Consequently, the Road Division Office took matters into its own hands and began pitching the road this morning.
