KATHMANDU, Sept 20: The teachers with temporary status will not be taking part in temporary teachers' management process launched by the government.

Temporary Teachers Agitation Centre Committee President, Narendra Kunwar, said the government was not undertaking the management process for the temporary teachers in adherence to the provisions stipulated in the Education Act (Eight Amendment).

"The Act states that the teachers should either take the stipulated facility entitled before the internal notice is published by the Teachers Service Commission or engage in the internal competition," he said, adding "But the Commission has asked us to choose between participating in the internal competition or taking retirement entitled with facility before the publication of the notice. This is not acceptable for us."

The Education Department had asked the teachers to fill up the 'Temporary Teachers Detail Collection Form' by September 19 to manage the temporary teachers.

Kunwar expressed concern that the Department was starting the management process without addressing their demands. At present, there are a total of 17,000 temporary teachers across the country. RSS
