This concession facility came into effect from September 8 after Nepal Telecom and Bharati Airtel jointly launched this promotional plan.[break]
According to the plan, one can place a call on Nepal Telecom´s network for 10 minutes after paying Indian Rs. 54. Before this, a telephone call from India costs Rs. 10 per minute on an average.
Speaking at the launching program, Nepal Telecom Managing Director Amarnath Singh said that this promotional scheme has been launched so that a large section of Nepali population living outside the country would be able to call families and friends back home at cheper rate.
It is said that Airtel is likely to extend this service in other Indian cities, too.
