Teachers trained to use critical thinking

KATHMANDU, June 11: Goreto Nepal conducted a five-day training on use of critical thinking methodology in teaching which was attended by 300 teachers of 32 schools in Sindhupalchowk district, informed Goreto Nepal at a program organized to share the findings of basic survey of ´Qualitative Improvement in Education through Critical Thinking Methodology´ project on Saturday.



All the resource persons and inspectors at the District Education Office (DEO), Sindhupalchowk were also given training under the three-year project run in coordination with the Ministry of Education, Finnish Embassy to Nepal and the DEO. [break]



The report covered physical infrastructure of 24 schools under Barhabise and Khandichour resource centers, teaching technique employed at those schools and also the result of students of the third, fifth and eighth grades of those schools in Nepali, mathematics, science and social studies.



The project involves regular monitoring of classes at schools to help implement critical thinking methodology in teaching.
