Tarun Dal Banke stage demonstration demanding action against culprits of Rapti Sonari incident

NEPALGUNJ, Aug 18: The Banke unit of Nepal Tarun Dal, the youth wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, staged a demonstration demanding strict action against those involved in an incident in the weekend in which two youngsters were attacked with sharp weapons in Raptisonari of Banke district.

NEPALGUNJ, Aug 18: The Banke unit of Nepal Tarun Dal, the youth wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, staged a demonstration demanding strict action against those involved in an incident in the weekend in which two youngsters were attacked with sharp weapons in Raptisonari of Banke district.


The activists of Tarun Dal staged a one-hour demonstration on the streets on Sunday afternoon in Kohalpur.

On Saturday evening, some people with their faces covered, attacked the two youths with sharp weapons at a junction in Binauna, Ward No. 5 of Raptisonari Rural Municipality at around 7:30 PM. The victims have been identified as Sandip Bishta, 28, of Ward No. 2 of Raptisonari and Sulabh Malla, 28, from Parshurampur, Ward No. 7 of Baijnath Rural Municipality.


Both of the injured are undergoing treatment in Lucknow, India. Banke police have taken control of four people, including Gyanendra Raj Oli,  also known as 'Gyanu', who is the chairman of the Youth Association of Nepal affiliated to the CPN-UML.


The demonstration disrupted transportation for some time. The Tarun Dal activists, who were present in large numbers at Chauraha-based Area Police Office, Kohalpur and New Road, demanded strict action against the culprits. 


Birendra Bahadur Shah, president of Tarun Dal Banke, said in a statement that a one-hour demonstration was held on the streets demanding strict actions against those involved in the incident.
