‘Tarkariwali’ gets scholarship for higher studies

RATNANAGAR, Nov 23: Kusum Shrestha of Gorkha, who rose to fame as ‘Tarkariwali’ after her photos became viral on social media, has received scholarship till post-graduation.

Popular Multi-media, the producer of Nepali movie ‘Lamphu’, provided scholarship to Kusum for +2 studies at a program organized with collaboration with Quest College.

Likewise, she will receive a full scholarship for masters and bachelors studies from Nepal Mega College, Babarmahal. Chairman of Popular Multi-media, Shakti Baldev Gharasaini, director of movie ‘Lamphu’, Gopal Chandra Lamichhane, producer Punam Chhetri Gautam, actor Sanjeet Bhandari, senior writer L.B. Chhetri, Shrestha, her uncle Gopi Lal Shrestha, principal of Quest Model College Jagadish Chandra Sharma among others were present at the program.

Shrestha said the help was incomparable for her. “I will work hard to get higher education as per their wish and this help is incomparable for me. Education was also my main priority,” she said.

She added the assistance was a significant help for her as she is now in a financially weak condition.

Speaking at the program, she said, “I will earn name and fame for my country and fulfill my parents dream.”
