The Tigers has announced the Banda (general shut-down) in Nawalparasi district as well after calling similar Bandas in Rupandehi and Kapilbastu districts.
In a press release, the military chief of the group, Pratap, said the two-day general strike has been called to protest against the killing of its two cadres in Rupandehi.
It is stated that educational institutions will not be closed although transport services, factories and the market will remain closed.
Police in the district said the Tigers also detonated bombs at different places in Parasi, the district headquarters, on the eve of the general strike. No casualties and major damage have been reported from these blasts.
