“I don´t trust Maoist commitments anymore as they are breaching their commitments one after the other.”
Inaugurating the 7th convention of the CPN-UML Kavre district chapter on Friday, PM Nepal said, “The Maoists must stop using force and scrap the organizational structure of the Young Communist League (YCL) if they are sincere toward the democratic process.” [break]
Claiming that the recent remarks of Dr Baburam Bhattarai reflected the Maoists´ intent to capture state power, PM Nepal said that such remarks were objectionable. He said that the Maoists are not only criticized by people in the country but also by the international community.
Recalling the recent attack on Rukum based journalist Tika Bista, PM Nepal said, “Attack on journalist Tika is a brutal act. One can easily guess who is behind the act.” He indicated that the Maoists were involved in the attack.
Suggesting Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to quit from party chairmanship, PM Nepal said, “If you don´t regret for your mistakes and if you are unable to control your cadres you have no more moral ground to hold party chairmanship.” He also asked Dahal to take actions against Maoist cadres involved in intimidations, violence and unlawful activities. “No one will trust Dahal´s dual standard anymore.”
PM Nepal challenged the Maoists to form new government if they could garner majority in parliament. He also accused the Maoists of inciting locals to encroach jungles in the guise of squatters. “The Kailali incident is tragic one. But no one has right to encroach public property.” He said that the government is ready to support genuine squatters.
