Table tennis team off to SKorea

KATHMANDU, June 28: An 11-member Nepali table tennis team, comprising eight players and three officials, left for South Korea on Friday to participate in the 21st Asian Table Tennis Championship. There are four male and four female players in the national team.[break]



Shiva Sundar Gothe, Deep Saun, Ranjit Singh Rayamajhi and Binesh Baniya will represent Nepal in the men´s section during the championship, which will be held in Busan from June 30 to July 7.



Likewise, Selisha Khadgi, Manita Chitrakar, Kajol Rauniyar and Sunita Lama will compete in the women´s section during the championship.



The Nepali players will compete in men´s singles, women´s singles, men´s doubles, women´s doubles, mixed doubles and team event.



Sandhya Shakya is the coach of the Nepali team. All Nepal Table Tennis Association´s General Secretary Kuber Prakash Singh is the team leader while Tejendra Singh Mahara will act as referee during the championship.



National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama bade farewell to the team amidst a function at NSC before the team´s departure.
