SYANGJA, Feb 2: The Syangja District Hospital has resumed operation of its oxygen plant. The plant that halted its operation for long has a capacity of generating 15,000 liters of oxygen a day, said the hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Ramesh Prasad Acharya, adding that currently, it has produced 70 to 75 filled oxygen cylinders a day.

"The plant was set up around eight months ago and was left useless to save electricity. It resumed operation by expanding the electricity line in coordination and with the help of the Nepal Electricity Authority," said Chief District Officer Raju Prasad Poudel.

With its operation, the district will have enough supply of oxygen for patients, including patients infected with COVID-19, said Indra Bahadur Godar, chair of the hospital’s board of directors.
