KATHMANDU, Oct 20: A Swiss national died from altitude sickness in Neshyang Rural Municipality of Manang on Sunday. 


Inspector Rajendra Bahadur KC of the District Police Office, Manang, said that Marcus Sesler, 63, with passport number S 0885187, who was living in a tent in Yak Kharka, Neshyang Rural Municipality-3 has died due to altitude sickness. Inspector KC said that Sesler had slept soundly on Saturday night and was found dead in the morning.

According to police, preparations are being made to bring the deceased to Kathmandu via helicopter. During this year’s mountaineering season, a total of 10 foreigners and 23 Nepali nationals have been rescued from the area.
