Speaking at the program he thanked the Swiss government for its long cooperation in the development sector in Nepal and stressed on the scope of bilateral cooperation in the fields of hydropower, transportation, high-land agriculture, infrastructure development, animal husbandry and tourism.
Earlier, addressing a press conference, the members of Swiss delegation currently visiting the country informed about their travel to Ramechhap district in order to get insight of Swiss supported development programs at the local level. The newly appointed Swiss ambassador to Nepal Thomas Gass stressed the importance of ´ensuring that development activities benefit the disadvantaged groups of rural Nepal.´

The delegation members also reaffirmed the Swiss government´s commitment to stay engaged in Nepal´s peace process. Besides, its assistance in development sector, the delegation said it is looking at contributing Swiss expertise in for security sector reform in Nepal.
Switzerland provides an annual assistance of $20 million to Nepal. There are about 100 Swiss nationals currently residing in Nepal and some 3000 Swiss tourists visit Nepal annually.
No anti-India activities from Nepal: PM
PM Nepal said on Monday that the government will not allow any anti-India activities emanating from Nepali soil. He was responding to a query on his India visit.
He also said that besides Nepal´s proposal to sign two treaties relating to trade and another to unauthorized trade, and request India to move ahead with DPR process of Pancheshwar, Nepal will also request for Indian assistance in building one of the three museums proposed by the prime minister.
