KATHMANDU, July 28: A five-member swimming team, including four players, left for Russia on Monday to participate in the 16th FINA World Swimming Championship slated for July 30 to August 8 in Kazan.

Sirish Gurung will vie in 50 m and 100 m freestyle, while Kiran Karki will compete in the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke in men's sections. Similarly, Sofia Shah will take part in the 50 m and 200 m freestyle, while Gaurika Singh will compete in 100 m freestyle and backstroke in women's sections.
The championship will also serve as selection for Rio Olympic 2016.
