KATHMANDU, Sept 16: A lawmaker belonging to Nepali Congress (NC) Min Bahadur Bishwakarma has claimed that suspended Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana had rejected signing in the document of his statements given before the Impeachment Recommendation Committee under someone’s instigation. Lawmaker Bishwakarma, however, did not reveal what that ‘someone’ was.
Talking to media persons, lawmaker Bishwakarma said although Chief Justice Rana at first said that he would sign the last page saying that everything could not be read he refused to sign it at the end. He claimed that Rana must have acted that way under someone’s instigation.
The meeting of the Impeachment Recommendation Committee that began at 9 AM today is still underway. The meeting today was supposed to get Rana Signed the document of his statements
Bishwakarma, who is a member of the Impeachment Recommendation Committee, said that it will take at least 7 hours to read the 174-page long statement recorded by the parliament panel.
