KATHMANDU, Feb 5: A suspect has been arrested on the suspicion of being involved in the murder of a 15-year-old girl in Morang.

According to sources at the District Police Office, Morang, the police have arrested a person from Bara. The police have not divulged his name stating that further verification of some matters is underway.

However, the source claimed that he is the person who was arrested in other incidents before as well. It is suspected that the reason for the murder may be connected with that matter.

Gyanu Kumari Rai, who was studying at the house of Binod Rai, her maternal uncle's son, at Lamatol, Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-7, was killed. According to the police, on Monday at 10:30 PM, while going from the room to the toilet, she was struck on the neck with a sharp weapon.

According to the police, there is a toilet outside the house where she lived. It was revealed during the preliminary investigation that the murder had occurred while she was going from her room to the toilet. After hearing the girl crying, the members of the house informed the police.
