KATHMANDU, June 13: Supreme Court (SC) has turned down the case filed at the Supreme Court against the government’s decision to give amnesty to murder-accused Bal Krishna Dhungel.
Supreme Court Co-Registrar Narayan Prasad Panthi quashed the writ petition saying that the case filed against amnesty to Dhungel is still sub-judice in the Supreme Court.
Further, the registration of the case is against the Rule of Supreme Court regulations 2074 and the National Code.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari had given amnesty to 816 including Dhungel on the occasion of Republic Day as per the decision and recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
