Fashion is an art that glimmers to its maximum when complemented with matching accessories. Undoubtedly, the season puts fashion buffs on their toes to bring out the best from their wardrobes. Moreover, with the arrival of monsoon, it’s crucial to get the footwear right as well.


My City’s Shusma Barali went around Kumaripati, Asan, and New Road to find out the trending footwear this season.




Ballet flat

Ballet flat’s ability to cope with the rainy streets makes the flat shoes popular among ladies. It’s a closed shoe available in different variants. Women from all age group prefer this shoe because it prevents feet from sunburn and dusts. According to Rabindra Kumar Bohora, owner of Shiva-Shakti Emporium at New Road, the demand for ballet flats is high because it is comfortable to wear and attractive too.




Work flat 

Work flats are common among office ladies. Kamala Sharma a shoe vendor at Sankata shares, “These flats are preferred by office women but can be paired with both formal and informal attire.” Work flats are mostly found in plain colors like black, light pink, or dark red. 

Sneaker flat 

Sneaker flats are adored for 

its casual and sporty appearance, mostly by teenagers. Sharma explained that these flats complimented all kinds of attires, especially one-piece dresses, and half pants.

Sandals

Sandals are the best flat shoes that are easy to wash. You can even find  sandals made of plastic in a variety of colors. According to Deepsikha Dhungana, sandals are comfortable in summer and monsoon. She added, “You don’t have to worry about the foot odor either.”
