From Chitrangda to Vaani Kapoor: Bollywood beauties show supremacy on Day 2 of Bombay Times Fashion Week 2022

Day 2 of Mumbai's biggest fashion extravaganza, the Bombay Times Fashion Week turned out to be one star-studded affair. While participating designers left us impressed with their remarkable collections, B-Town beauties took over the ramp. Here are some of the highlights of Day 2 of the fashion showcase. JD Institute of Technology presented 'The White Sun', a collection inspired by summer and rain. Fresh, simple, and stylish, the versatile silhouettes made their way down the runway in elegant earthy hues and tones of white.

Day 2 of Mumbai's biggest fashion extravaganza, the Bombay Times Fashion Week turned out to be one star-studded affair. While participating designers left us impressed with their remarkable collections, B-Town beauties took over the ramp. Here are some of the highlights of Day 2 of the fashion showcase.


JD Institute of Technology presented 'The White Sun', a collection inspired by summer and rain. Fresh, simple, and stylish, the versatile silhouettes made their way down the runway in elegant earthy hues and tones of white.

There was a collective show put across by three young labels, Entrepower + XIN + Merame Label. Entrepower showcased an inclusive collection, which was an ode to women. The collection was inspired by women who juggle multiple roles effortlessly and aims to inspire more women to claim their power and celebrate everything about themselves – whatever their profession may be.

Xin showcased a collection of stylish sleepwear, leisurewear, and intimates, the collection featured eye-catching colors, sensual silhouettes, and edgy embellishments.


Meramé, the name of this budding homegrown clothing brand represented by three women –Meenakshi, Radhika, and Meeraya showcased a great collection. Blending the latest trends with timeless fabrics is the forte of the label, fashion lovers were in for a delight. Meramé’s latest Spring Summer Collection’22 was all about free flow and ease of dressing; outfits that can take you from day to night, casual to formal, dressed down to dressed up –it is all about how you want to style the garments.


La Mira's spring-summer collection captured the season's trends to showcase the styles that exuberate immense joy and positivity. The collection comprised fun tassels and fringe, sequins and shimmer that add blink throwing back to the Gatsby era, flowy prints in a muted color palette, and use of texture focusing on structured silhouettes that added dominance to the collection, also recapitulating some statement denim styles to sum it up. Nikki Tamboli walked the ramp for the label.


Anya presented 'Amamma’s Kolam' - A sustainable collection that took us down the memory lane of spending the summer break at our ancestral homes. Designed using lotus fabric and adorned with kolam motifs inspired from her Amamma’s (grandmother’s) creations, this collection was nostalgia revisited. Shveta Salve walked the ramp for the label.


Esha's collection embodied the beautiful spirit of spring evoked by tropical prints and fluid, unstructured silhouettes. A tender blend of summertime aesthetics with versatile styles in lightweight fabrics which are soulfully draped to impart comfort and ease this spring season. An amalgamation of fresh essence of botany and warm beachside breeze, this Summer resort collection presented an array of boxy fits, kaftans, and maxi’s with statement gathers, smart casual co-ord sets. Palak Tiwari stopped the show for Eshaa, dressed in tropical co-ords.


Rishi and Vibhuti presented a whimsical & magical tale of timeless south-Asian delicacies with 'Whimsical Affair 22'. An intimate affair between the trends of yesteryears and contemporary techniques featured vivid shades of Persian, Salmon, and Tiffany. The collection featured a harmonious play of motifs on ensembles that bear the intricate presence of craftsmanship, embroidery, sequins, and braids. Actress Athiya Shetty looks stunned in a power suit and bustier for the duo.


KALKI presented RUMI -An Untold Summer, The collection was a continual fairy-tale of timeless pieces that the wearer will keep and covet. The lineup was rife with hyperfeminine gowns and bridal couture fit for life’s most romantic moments. Inspired by the different shades of gray, moody tones of purple, millennial pinks, and rustic reds these colors came together to create a sleek, modern palette for a city fête or a minimalist event in an otherworldly destination. The designer took us on a tour of lush, creamy florals and metallic silks. The stage was filled with a refined palette of summer sequins handcrafted into frothy tulles dreamed in for an urban couple looking for a simple yet cool vibe, or a duo that's looking to reinterpret what it means to wed overseas or outdoors. Actress Vaani Kapoor turned showstopper for the label in a breathtaking lehenga.


Socialite and jewelry designer Queenie Singh put across a splendid show with a stellar display of exquisite jewelry. Luxurious crystals and gems sparkled down the runway in rich and elegant shades that would compliment any skin tone or choice of style! It was a treat for any woman looking to add a timeless piece to their wardrobe! Actress Chitrangda turned showstopper for the designer and dressed to kill in a gorgeous gown.
