At a press conference organized by Morang Chapter of Nepal Press Union at the office of GP Foundation, Biratnagar on Wednesday morning, Koirala made it clear that she would present for the top berth of the party if incumbent Sushil Koirala declined to carry on his leadership.
Noting that her candidacy would be for the empowerment of women across the country, she stressed the need to create several inclusive posts within the party to give chance to groom new leadership when the country has usurped into federalism.
She noted that NC is following Girija Prasad Koirala’s message of consensus, collaboration and unity while urging opposition parties including UCPN (Maoist) to restrain flexibility for consensus.
Leader Koirala ruled out any possibility of carving out more than five provinces underlining the need of federating the country along the north-south geographic lines.
She asserted that the issues including republic and secularism which were already decided could not be the subject of change now as it would drive the country to unrest. RSS
