DAILEKH, Dec 20: A boy in Dailekh who went missing from school on Tuesday afternoon was found dead in the water tank of school on Wednesday.
Police and locals had intensified search for the boy after he suddenly went out of contact since 1 pm on Tuesday.
Hikmat Shahi, 6, a UKG student at Sunrise Boarding School(SBS) in Dailekh, was found dead in the water tank of his school. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Thakur Prasad Pokharel, chief of the District Police Office informed that the minor's body was found a day after his sudden disappearance.
He informed Republica that the child had completely drowned in the tank. The family members of the deceased have demanded investigation stating that his demise is mysterious. It is yet to be ascertained whether his death was a suicide, accident or murder. His parents who are originally from Thantikatdh Rural Municipality, Bisalla work as vendors in Dailekh Bazar. As the incident occurred on the school premises, SBS remained closed on Wednesday.
