Strike causes Rs 2 billion loss

PARSA, March 30: The prolonged agitation of workers has hit hard industries situated in Birgunj-Pathaliya Industrial Corridor as they have incurred a loss of more than Rs. 2 billion.



Workers affiliated to Madhesh-based parties are up in arms demanding that the agreement signed with trade unions and umbrella organizations of businessmen on March 24 be scrapped. [break]



President of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce Ashok Temani said that more than 2,000 industries situated in the corridor area have incurred as loss of around Rs. 2 billion as the workers´ strike is continuing.
