PYUTHAN, March 5: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Vice Chairman Mohan Baidya and half a dozen leaders have returned to the capital in a Nepal Army helicopter as they were stranded because of the banda enforced by the former combatants who were disqualified.

The leaders were in Pyuthan to address a mass meeting organized by the UCPN-Maoist Pyuthan in Bijuwar on Sunday. [break]

The former combatants had called the banda demanding that their disqualified tag be removed, a lump sum of economic package for them, additional relief for injured, disabled and the Nursing women.

Both long and short route vehicles have not been operated from the district from early morning today.

The leaders stranded in Pyuthan also met with government office chiefs in Khalanga, this morning.
