CHITWAN, Feb 13: Vice-chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said the constitution cannot be promulgated on time by bypassing any of the political parties.

Talking to RSS Sunday, Bhattarai stressed unity among the parties until the peace process is taken to conclusion and a new constitution is formulated. "For this, like the Maoist party, other parties also need to make sacrifices," he said.[break]

The Maoist vice-president said the current deadlock in expanding the Cabinet is because the CPN-UML has made a wrong interpretation of the seven-point agreement reached between the Maoist and the UML leadership.

He expressed the confidence that the present government itself will be the consensus government. Recalling the People´s War Day today, Maoist leader Bhattarai said the parties should not forget the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
