Standard Chartered appoints Gorakh Rana as Deputy CEO

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCBNL) has announced the appointment of Gorakh Rana as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 January 2022.

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCBNL) has announced the appointment of Gorakh Rana as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 January 2022.


According to a statement issued by the bank, Rana has a banking experience spanning over 27 years with a deep knowledge of Nepal’s banking industry and has been representing Standard Chartered in several industry and regulatory forums.

Rana joined SCBNL in 1994 in the Retail and Private Banking department and moved to Corporate and Institutional Banking in 1996 where he has served in various capacities ranging from Relationship Manager, Senior Credit Manager, Head of Client Coverage and last appointment being the Head of Global Banking & Commercial Banking. 


Along with the role of deputy CEO, he will continue to Head Client Coverage, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking in Nepal, according to the statement.
