The three-day event is expected to be a milestone to bring foreign investment in Nepal´s tourism sector and give a boost to international marketing of the country as a tourism destination. Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) is organizing the event.[break]
Madhav Om Shrestha, executive director of HAN, said the event was a big opportunity for Nepal to welcome foreign investment. “Most of the participants of the event are entrepreneurs. They might be interested expand their chain or start a new venture in this country,” he added.
Speaking at a press briefing in the capital on Monday, HAN President Prasiddha Pandey said the event would feature discussion on topics like redefining excellence in standards for the hospitality industry, new trend in hospitality in 2012, climate change and Nepal tourism investment and realities among others.
He further said the event would help promote Nepal as a safe and beautiful tourist destination in the international market.
“Although Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 campaign is nearing its end, we are hopeful that the event will disseminate a positive message amongst potential tourist, encouraging them to visit Nepal,” he added.
Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Dr Yuvaraj Khatiwada, former tourism secretary Dipendra Purush Dhakal; Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) Coordinator Yogendra Shakya along with other prominent national and international personalities are scheduled to present their working papers in the event.
