KATHMANDU, May 24: A teacher has been arrested from Kathmandu on the charge of sexually abusing and molesting a girl student. Janardan Adhikari, a teacher and coordinator at St Lawrence College in Chabahil Kathmandu, has been arrested for allegedly abusing a grade 11 student, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Raj Mainali of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Office.

The students of the college staged a protest on Tuesday morning saying that the teacher had abused a college student and demanded action against him. The teachers and parents were called to the Gaushala Police Station for discussion. Police have taken the teacher in custody after discussing the matter with the parents and students.
