Xavier International defeated CCRC College 2-0 in the match played at the Chyasal Football Ground. Manish Maharjan struck twice for the winner in the 75th and 84th minutes.
Likewise, Cyrus College thrashed Manamohan Health Science College 2-1 in the second match of the day. Salil Ghale and Kiran Bhandari scored for the winner while Sagar Bhandari scored the lone goal for Manamohan Health Science.
Golden Gate beat Trijyoti College by the huge margin of 7-0. Sujan Shrestha and Jagjit Shrestha scored two each while Ganesh Khadka, Siva Shrestha and Nirajan Malla scored one each. Nepal Commerce Campus defeated Saraswati Campus ´A´ 2-0. Siddi Shrestha and Saroj Dahal scored for the winner.
NIMS, Unique win titles
Hosts NIMS won the girls´ title of the First Niten Thakuri Memorial Inter-School Basketball Tournament on Sunday while Unique won the boys´ title.
NIMS defeated Kantipur School 30-15 in the final match played at hosts´ court at Tokha, Kathmandu. Mina Gautam scored 15 points for the hosts and she was awarded most valuable player of the tournament.
In the boys´ class, Unique School defeated hosts NIMS ´A´ 68-53 as Tshiring Sherpa scored 28 points. Manish Tamang of unique was named the most valuable player of the tournament.
New Shrine, HIMS into final
New Shrine and HIMS entered the final of the first Midland Inter-school Mini-boys Basketball Tournament on Sunday. New Shrine defeated Grammar School 39-27 as Ajay Sapkota scored 14 points for the winner.
HIMS thrashed Skylark 46-27 in the second semifinal. Jigme Norbu scored 17 points for the winning team.
