Pradhan had set the record during the Eighth South Asian Games (SAG) held in Nepal. Shreya will be awarded Rs 10,000 for her feat. On Friday, Prasiddha Jung Shah and Shailesh Rana will compete in men’s 50 meter freestyle. Dhital will participate in the women’s same event on Saturday.
Three medals for Nepal
KATHMANDU: Nepali players on Thursday bagged a silver and two bronze medals during the 20th KOI World Cup Karate being held in Malaysia. In the U-16 boys’ section, Rajkumar Rasaili beat players from Kuwait, Russia, Malaysia and the UAE but lost to an Indonesian player to settle for silver. Likewise, Bimala Tamang and Malika Thapa bagged a bronze each in the girls’ U-16 and U-18 sections respectively.
JP, Arunima triumph
KATHMANDU: JP High School and Arunima Higher Secondary School won their respective matches on Thursday in the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school National Football Tournament being held at ANFA ground, Satdobato. JP beat Times Academy 2-1 in tie-breaker following a goalless draw in regulation time. In another match, Arunima saw off Brihaspati Vidya Sadan 3-1 in tie-breaker after the regulation time ended goalless.
