The academy will henceforth be named Neil David Mechi Cricket Academy. The academy, established five years ago, has currently been giving training free of cost to 45 players. Neil David Katuwal, the director of Neil David Salon, said that he has taken the step taking it as his responsibility as he was born in Jhapa and had keen interest in sports since his childhood.
Academy President Manoj Katuwal thanked Neil David for his support and also said that the academy has been planning to set up branches in Birtamod and Chandragadi of the district.
NAPF, LA in semifinal
Defending champions Nepal Armed Police Force School (NAPF) and Little Angels´ (LA) have entered the semifinals of the 15th Father Moran Memorial Primary-level Invitational Football Tournament. NAPF defeated Daffodil 2-0 on Monday at the ground of the hosts St Xavier´s at Godawari. Dinesh Shahi scored both the goals for NAPF. In the second quarterfinal match of the day, LA defeated Ideal Model School 2-1. Milan Ghale and Paras Chandra Bohara scored a goal each for the winners while Sojan Rai struck a consolation goal for Ideal.
Badminton team off to Dhaka
A five-member Nepali badminton team, including four players, left Kathmandu for Dhaka on Monday to participate in the South Asian Junior Training Camp organized by Asian Badminton Federation. Deepesh Dhami, Suman Limbu, Shiksha Shrestha and Shreya Pradhan are the four junior players participating in the camp. Coach Rajesh Pratap Shakya is leading the Nepali team in Dhaka. National Sports Council Member Secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary and officials of Nepal Badminton Association bade farewell to the team.
