Lama clinches gold
KATHMANDU: Mani Kumar Lama of AVM School clinched gold in the ongoing 4th Gautam Buddha Memorial Inter-school Table Tennis Tournament on Friday. Lama clinched the gold in boys´ singles U-16 defeating Pratim Awal of Prabhat School 11-6, 5-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-9. Biplab Adhikari and Krishna Thapa finished combined third. Meanwhile, All Nepal Table Tennis Association will organize 20-20 National Table Tennis League next month in co-ordination with National Table Tennis Training Center. The top 20 players in the men´s and women´s category will participate in the league.
Zenith´s impressive win
KATHMANDU: Zenith Academy registered an impressive 8-0 win over Bright Land Higher Secondary School in the Coca-cola Inter-school National Football Tournament on Friday. Sandesh Basnet scored a hat-trick for Zenith while Shree Krishna Dhital and Bipin Kharel scored a goal each in the match played at ANFA Complex, Satdobato. David Bhandari scored the other goal for Zenith. In another match, Arjun Karki and Dipendra Karki were on target as The City Academy defeated Tri-Padhma Higher Secondary School 2-0. GEMS earned a walkover from Nandi School. Meanwhile, AVM beat The Emporium Academy 4-3 in tie-breaker.
