SPORTS BRIEFS: Arihant T20 League

KATHMANDU, April 1: Nepal Marwadi Cricket Club is all set to organize Arihant Holiday Champion T20 Cricket League from Tuesday. The club organized a press conference in the capital on Monday and informed that eight teams from Kathmandu Valley and four teams from outside the valley will be participating in the tournament. The winner will get Rs 150,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 50,000.



League and super-league matches of the tournament will be played at the Pulchowk Engineering Ground while the semifinals and the final will be played at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. Arihant Holidays Pvt Ltd is the sponsor for the tournament while Mahalaxmi cable Pvt Ltd is the co-sponsor.[break]



Hamal sets final with Kayastha



KATHMANDU: FIDE Master Manish Hamal set up the title clash with Madan Krishna Kayastha of GoldenGate College in the First Cooperative Cup Chess Tournament being held in Lalitpur. Hamal defeated Rajan Puri of Lalitpur in sudden death in the semifinal while Kayastha edged past Niraj Niraula of Jhapa with an identical result to the first semifinal. The winner will receive a Yamaha motorbike while the runner-up will bag Rs 50,000.
