Jay Raj Roy of the organizing company informed the change in schedule after consultation with Nepal Sports Council (NSC). The NSC had to reschedule the tournament after it clashed with the third annual Prime Minister Cup. It is the second time the tournament has been rescheduled. Initially, the event was planned to be held in Biratnagar in late March. It was postponed for April 14 to 22, and the event was also shifted to Kathmandu.

The Chief Minister Cup held in Bhairahawa and the 8th National Sports held in Nepalgunj kept the national team busy, leading to the rescheduling of dates.

Four franchises -- Biratnagar Roaring Lioness, Bhairahawa Queens, Dhangadhi Wonder Women's and Kathmandu Super Champions -- will tussle in the first season of the league. Karuna Bhandari, national women’s cricket team captain Rubina Chhetry, vice-captain Sita Rana Magar, and Nery Thapa have been appointed as the marquee players.
