NCL Women’s Cricket League from March 15

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: NCL Sports Private Limited will organize NCL Women’s T20 Cricket League in Biratnagar from March 15. The tournament which will feature franchise teams will run till March 23.

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: NCL Sports Private Limited will organize NCL Women’s T20 Cricket League in Biratnagar from March 15. The tournament which will feature franchise teams will run till March 23. 


The organizers confirmed the date and venue of the tournament at a press meet organized at Kamaladi, Kathmandu on Friday. 

With NCL Cricket League, there will be two franchise women tournaments this year. The Women’s Champions League (WCL) to be organized by the Queens Event 


Management Private Limited in April was announced on Thursday. But, both the tournaments won’t feature any foreign players. 

WCL, which will be held from April 5 to 13, will be played at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Likewise, the NCL League will be played at the Baijnathpur Cricket Ground in Biratnagar.

NCL Women’s T20 league postponed again


The NCL President Jay Raj Ray said that teams from four cities will participate in the T20 Cricket League, but the names of the cities and teams have not been fixed yet. 


According to Ray, the franchise teams will select the players as per their capabilities.

Nepal women’s cricket team head coach Binod Das will classify the players as per their performances in the national team and in the domestic tournaments. 


Das said that the leagues will play a major role in uplifting the playing standard of the players at a time when there are no women’s cricket tournaments in the country. 


The organizers also said that it will soon announce the prize and other details of the tournament. They have already taken approval from the National Sports Council (NSC) to organize the tournament.
