KATHMANDU, Feb 6: The Special Court has settled only approximately 17 per cent of cases filed in the past one and half years.
Out of the total 320 cases (remaining 232 cases of the last fiscal year, and the rest in the six months in the current FY), only 58 have been settled, said the Court's Spokesperson Nagendra Keshari Pokharel.
He blamed the recently held elections on the failure to deal with the cases. "Cases filed in the court are serious. So it takes comparatively a longer time to settle them which causes delay," he said.
The judges and the staff at the Special Court were mobilised for conducting the elections by the Election Commission.
